Installation

Installing vinyl wall decals is super easy with Right On The Walls! Our application method has been perfected to ensure best adhesion to your wall with the least steps possible.

How To Apply Vinyl Wall Decals
It's easy to apply vinyl wall decals with our step by step installation guide.

Our vinyl decal products are individually precision cut letters or artwork that press onto your wall or any flat surface. The decals will arrive on a sheet. After pressing the sheet to your wall following our detailed installation instructions, pull it back and only the lettering remains. If you order artwork which contains more than a single color, each color will come on a separate sheet & need to be applied separately.

Easy Instructions Will Arrive With Your Vinyl Order!

Is This Your First Time Applying Wall Decals?
Don't feel overwhelmed, our products are easy to apply! If you have never applied vinyl before, it may take a little longer the first time — it's ok to go slowly, you'll be a pro in no time. Be sure to try the included test decal, look over instructions before you get started and gather necessary tools.

*Please note: Installation time may vary by individual.

Best Surfaces for Application
Wall decals will stick best to hard, clean, dry and smooth surfaces such as walls, windows, painted metal, finished wood, glass, plastic, appliances, crafts and more! Your surface must be clean and dry for the product to stick well. Our decals will stick to lightly textured walls, but some textures may be difficult.

We highly recommend testing your surface with a vinyl color sample if you have any of the following wall conditions:

** Any glaze or faux paint finish.
** Wallpaper (flat, glossy & textured)
** High Gloss Painted surfaces.
** Flat or Satin Paint - may require additional patience & pressure for application.
** Egg Shell Paint - may not stick. Please order sample kit for testing.
** Textured Walls may not accept vinyl application.
** Knock Down Textured Walls may experience difficulty with decal edges lifting.
** Unpainted cinder block, wood or other rough surface.
** Painted wood or plywood, may have difficulty with decal edge lift.
** Painted paneling, product may pull some paint from paneling when removed.
** Cracked, Crumbling or Peeling walls (plaster or paint).
** Will not stick to 'Candlelight' finish by Ralph Lauren.
** Not Recommended for use with with High Gloss Painted surfaces.
** Knock Down Textured Walls may experience some difficulty with edges.
** Zero VOC or "Green" paint

Applying Decals to Glass, Plastic or Metal:
Use this "wet method" for easy no-fail application to glass, plastic or metal only. Do not use this wet method on interior walls.

Make a mild mixture of soap and water in a spray bottle and soak the surface (i.e. glass, plastic or metal) completely.

Follow steps 2, 3 & 4 above. When the backing paper is peeled away, take your mixture and apply to the adhesive side of the decal. (This allows for corrections if placed incorrectly). Spray the surface where your decal is to be applied again and set it in place. The water and soap mixture will allow you to easily move the decal around until you get it exactly in the right spot.

Once your decal is in place, grab a squeegee and apply pressure from the center outward. Using medium to high pressure, remove any bubbles and excess liquid. Allow the decal to dry completely in place with the paper on top. Once dry, remove the paper by peeling slowly to reveal your decal.

How To Remove Vinyl Wall Decals:
We recommend hanging on to the application tool sent with your order for easy removal. If you don't have the application tool, simply grab the corner of each letter with your fingernail, a pair of tweezers or gently lift with the corner of a credit card. Pull off of the wall at a slight angle. If your lettering has been on your wall for a length of time, you may wish to warm up the removable adhesive with a hair dryer to speed up removal.
